Boston Globe marks the 25h anniversary of busing.

June 19, 1994

An editorial the newspaper admits that it had unequivocally endorsed a desegregation plan for Boston’s schools, but concludes, “Busing has been a failure in Boston. It achieved neither integration nor better schooling. . . In the quest for equality, an important requirement for community – a sense of control over governing forces – was tossed aside like so much dross.”
